I’m often asked by parents which Britax New Generation convertible car seat (Roundabout, Marathon or Boulevard) is the best.  The truth is, it depends upon your needs. The below product summaries should make it easy for you to compare Britax models and find what’s right for your family. For many of you, your decision will be influenced by the size of the back seat of your car, so it's strong recommended that you try out the following seats in your own car before making a decision.

55 Pound Weight Limit Seat

The Britax Roundabout is the most basic and inexpensive Britax car seat, designed for children under 55 pounds. Its relatively compact size makes it ideal for cars with small back seats. and push-button LATCH (lower anchor and tether for children) connectors make installation easy. The five-point harness has three different height positions, ensuring a secure and safe fit for your child. The main downside of this model is that children are likely to outgrow it before a parent is convertible transitioning their child to a traditional booster If you have the room in your car, you may prefer a seat with a higher weight limit.

70 Pound Weight Limit Seats

The Britax Marathon is a mid-weight convertible designed for children up to 70 pounds. This seat can take you all the way through to a booster seat (around the time your child is 5-7 years old), keeping children in the five-point harness longer. The Marathon is equipped with a five-point harness with four positions and a lift-lever harness adjuster. This model also features the Britax LATCH bar with individual tightening mechanisms on each, making it easier to install than the early Britax models. This is one of my favorite Britax features.

Similar to the Marathon, the Britax Boulevard is also a mid-weight convertible car seat designed for children up to 70 pounds. The most expensive and high-tech Britax car seat, the Boulevard features the added safety of True Impact Side Protection making it the safest and most comfortable and versatile Britax car seat.
