The Product: Baby Swing
Another essential product for your baby. Most swings will accommodate babies
0-25 pounds. In the past few years, the market for baby swings has really changed with more models that move from side to side, vibrate, etc versus the traditional front to back swings.
Recommendation: Fisher Price Baby Papasan Cradle Swing Review
The Fisher Price Baby Papasan Cradle Swing is something that we used for our second child and wish we had for our first. Originally we had a traditional Graco six speed swing, however the Papasan Cradle Swing was recommended to us by many friend for the second time around. It has many more features and options including the ability to swing in two directions. Other features include six speeds, eight different songs with a volume control
and a toy tray.
Here are some advantages over the traditionally popular Graco
six speed swings:
• It swings in two directions, front to back and side to
side (similar to a cradle). Babies seem to prefer the side to side
• Has a plush cradle similar to the popular Papasan
Bouncy Seat There is something about this design that babies love,
they kind of melt into it.
• It’s much quieter and doesn't have that “clicking
sound” that many swing have
• Takes up a relatively small footprint
Becuase of the cradle like quality to this swing, your baby is also likely to really enjoy it for naps and it may even become the place that they sleep for those really difficult nights. It's definitely worth the extra money over a traditional swing.
Devil's Advocate:
As a safety precaution, the swing turns off after about seven minutes. However,
it would be nice to be able to control this manually. Also, for whatever
reason, many babies just don’t like swings. Before you invest the
money, you may want to borrow a friend’s or what to see how your baby
responds to being rocked or swung in their infant carrier.
