Stokke Tripp TrappThe Product: Highchair / Booster Seat

Depending on the type of Highchair you purchase, your baby will use it from the time he/she is about 6 months until age two. The best highchairs are easy to move around and most importantly, easy to clean. There are also a few models that will grow into more of a booster seat as your child grows and wants more mobility or to be closer to the table.

Recommendation: Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair

If your baby is getting  too big for his/her highchair or you are looking for something that looks a little nicer in your kitchen, the Tripp Trapp Highchair is the perfect choice. The Stokke Tripp Trapp was formerly known as the Stokke KinderZeat, but my guess was this name caused tons of misspellings, so Stokke decided to rename it two years ago.

Stokke
is one of the fastest growing baby future companies in the world, thanks to their innovative products that sport trendy contemporary designs and use natural, environmentally-friendly materials. The funky looking Stokke Tripp Trapp is the perfect example of this formula. It is designed for the older baby (18 mo +), but will support up to 300lbs so that it can also be used as a chair for teens and adults. The Tripp Trapp is a great transitional seat for kids who are too big for a highchair but not yet ready for full-size kitchen chairs and takes up much less space than a traditional highchair in your kitchen.  The footrest is designed as a ladder rung so younger kids can climb up into the seat on their own and the solid wood surface is very easy to clean. It also has a four point harness and a platform that lets you adjust the height very easily. For those of you that have wood floors, you will also appreciate the rubber pads on the bottom which will protect your floor. Finally, although the shape may look off-center, the Tripp Trapp is extremely stable and has been given numerous safety awards.

We originally bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp for our son at 18th months because we wanted something that was easy to wipe down because he spills everything he eats. He was also itching to get out of his highchair, especially as the second child. Now, he joins us at the table and our meals are much more enjoyable. He also loves that he can climb up into the chair and get down on this own.

The Stokke Tripp Trapp has also won numerous design and parenting awards

Devil's Advocate:

The only downside to the Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair that I have noticed is that you need to have the space at your table. We have to keep one of our kitchen chairs off to the side now, as we have a smaller table. I have also heard that the painted color versions of the chair (non-wood colors) are prone to chip, although Stokke has been very good about replacing them.
