Viking is a name that has long been synonymous with high-performance ovens and ranges. What is not as well known is that they have an impressive line of outdoor gas grills as well, which come in a number of models and sizes and are available in propane or natural gas. In addition, Viking as a number of accessories to help you outfit your entire outdoor kitchen.
Models & Variations
The E-Series is Viking’s super-premium line of grills. This series has all the features of the T-Series, plus more powerful burners that put out 29,000 BTUs. The grills in this line also have halogen canopy lighting, a specially designed Easy-Lift canopy, control panel illumination, burners that automatically re-light if they extinguish, and an easy-to-read numerical thermometer.
Both the T-Series and E-Series come in a choice of natural gas or propane. Currently there are few add-ons and accessories available for Viking’s grills, with the primary one being a 15-inch double side burner with electronic ignition that adds cooking area.
Both the T-Series and the E-Series are available in three sizes: 30-inch, 41-inch, and 53-inch. On the 30 inch models, the TruSear burner is optional, while on the 41 inch and 53 inch it is included. Viking uses two model tags to differentiate between their grills. All of the grills that do not have TruSear are referred to as VGBQ, while all of those with TruSear are VGIQ. Every Viking grill can be purchased either as a built-in or free standing. Viking sells grill carts separately to place free standing grills on.

Select Viking Models
The T-series is Viking’s base line of grills, although “base” for them still means high-end. This series features:

- 25,000 BTUs of regular grilling power
- TruSear Burner with 30,000 BTUs of power to get steaks done correctly
- Easy-to-clean porcelain coated grill grates
- Removable 12,500 BTU smoker box
- 15,000 BTU Gourmet Glo infrared burner with ball-bearing mounted rotisserie for chicken, turkey and roasts
It has also has many luxury touches, including an electronic starter, a canopy thermometer, and Flavor Generator plates that add flavor to meats by turning drippings into smoke.
