A large portable grill is ideal for a second home, an apartment deck, or anyplace you need the flexibility of a grill that can be picked up and moved by one person—without sacrificing power or cooking capacity.
The Weber Q 300 is Weber’s biggest and latest addition to the Weber Q Grill Series, with a huge cooking surface—393 square inches, large enough to cook about 18 hamburgers or 36 jumbo hot dogs. The Weber Q300 can cook as much as most full-size grills, but it’s a lot more versatile. This grill can cook a 12 pound turkey with room to spare!
The Weber Q 300 and Weber Q 320 heats up quickly, and cleanup is a cinch because when you turn the grill up to 600, it becomes self-cleaning. Setup is easy and can be completed in under an hour. Once assembled, the grill is a sturdy piece of equipment that can easily be rolled away for storage.
The Q300 series bolts onto a stationary cart (included) with a tank screen to keep the propane tank out of view and comes with a hose. There is a Regulator for a 20-lb. Tank that you can purchase separately. It has two stainless steel burners (one in the center and one on the perimeter) for maximum heat, and the different settings allow for a wide range of temperatures. The solid metal cooking grate on top of each burner protects your food and also makes it possible to slow cook your meals. The Q300 also comes with a folding table with tool hooks and a built in thermometer that helps monitor the temperature inside the grill. I would also recommend purchasing the Weber Q Premium Cover to ensure that your grill is protected by the weather and elements all-year round.
Weber 300 Q Series Models and Variations
Like the other Weber Q models, the Q-300 Gas Grill (426001) can be upgraded to the Q-320 Gas Grill (586002) for an extra $30. The added features in the Q 320 are recommended, as the cooking area is increased to 462 square inches, a 69-square-inch warming rack is added, and an electronic ignition and handle light are included. The warming rack and the added room can really come in handy when you have a line of people waiting around for burgers.
Many people will look at the price of the Q300 and wonder why they shouldn’t just purchase a full-size grill, such as a Weber Spirit. It’s a valid point, but the reason to pay a premium for this grill is because it’s lightweight, portable, and versatile. However, if you don’t need these qualities, then I would recommend going with the Weber Spirit.
