A lot people (myself included) actually own a Shuffle in addition to an iPod Nano or iPod Classic. With no moving or breakable parts, these little guys are nearly indestructible and are perfect both indoor and outdoor activities. I clip mine to the outside of my ski jacket in the winter for the chairlift ride and have never had an issue. The new design also includes a built in heavy duty clip, so you shouldn't need any other accessories.

About the size and weight of a matchbox, the new iPod Shuffle comes in 5 metallic brushed finishes (blue, green, purple, red and classic silver). The Shuffle’s small size is definitely a positive, but it also makes it easy to lose. I suggest you keep the headphones plugged in when possible to help make it easier to find.
