The Product: Baby Bouncy Seat

A bouncy seat is one of the staple products that you will want for your new baby. It allows the baby to move around and feel their own motion and is good for both awake and nap time. Most bouncy seats also have a vibration option that soothes and calms the baby as well.

Recommendation: Fisher Price Baby Papasan Review

The Fisher Price Baby Papasan is a somewhat new player in the bouncy seat category and for most of our friends has unseated the Kick N’ Play as the bouncy seat of choice. What makes the Baby Papasan seat different is that it is designed almost as a swaddle seat with soft layers of terry cloth fabric to keep your baby warm and snuggled. Like other seats, it also plays calming melodies and has a soothing vibration function. If you have trouble getting your baby to nap or sleep in a crib, the Baby Papasan might become an excellent option for you.

Devil's Advocate:

Although it is a bouncy seat, the Papasan is definitely more comfort than activity oriented. If your baby is a good sleeper and likes stimulation, you may prefer a bouncy seat that has an activity bar across the front (ie Kick & Play). Then again, you may want both products for different purposes. Also, the vibration options turns off after a certian period time, which frustrated some parents, but my guess is that it is a safety feature.
