Baby Bouncy Seat

The Fisher Price Baby Papasan is a somewhat of a niche player in the bouncy seat category and for most of our friends has unseated the Kick N’ Play as the bouncy seat of choice. What makes the Baby Papasan seat different is that it is designed almost as a swaddle seat with soft layers of terry cloth fabric to keep your baby warm and snuggled. Like other seats, it also plays calming melodies and has a soothing vibration function. If you have trouble getting your baby to nap or sleep in a crib, the Baby Papasan might become an excellent option for you. For the first few months, we used the Papasan all the time both for naps and for just keeping the baby entertained during awake time. We actually could have used one both downstairs and upstairs. If you are going to use the vibration feature a lot, I would recommend getting some rechargeable batteries.

Although it is a bouncy seat, the Papasan is definitely more comfort than activity oriented. If your baby is a good sleeper and likes stimulation, you may prefer a bouncy seat that has an activity bar across the front (ie: Kick & Play). Then again, you may want both products for different purposes. Also, the vibration options turns off after a certain period time, which is frustrating for some parents, but my guess is that it is a safety feature.
