Kidz Travelmate Review
This is hands down one of the best accessory purchases we have made. Rather
than lugging your car seat around the airport, the GoGo Kidz attaches to
the back of your convertible car seat, turning it into a functional stroller.
This makes it much easier to get your baby around the airport and allows
you to check your stroller with your luggage.
Originally designed to work
with Britax seats, the new Go Go Kidz Travelmate now works with virtually
any convertible car seat. Another nice feature is that it can stay attached
for use on the airplane (ask for a belt extender), however you must remove
it for automobiles. We were stopped by no less than 10 people on a recent
trip who noticed that Britax doesn’t make
a car seat and asked us about the GoGo Kidz Travelmate and where they could buy one.
This company could sell a lot of these by setting up shop at the airport.
Once you get to your destination, it's easy to detach from the car seat and will even fit
flat in your suitcase. The GoGo Kidz is a much more cost effective solution
than buying the Sit
N Stroll car seat, as it’s less than half the price and
it’s probably not practical to expect to use the Sit N' Stroll as your primary
stroller on vacation anyway.
Devil's Advocate:
Although you may think that the GoGo Kidz Travelmate would be a good substitute
for bringing a stroller, it’s really not practical to keep taking
the car seat in and out of the car and having to hook and unhook the
Travelmate every time, unless you will only need the stroller on one
or two occasions. However, while it may seem of limited use, lugging a carseat
around the airport when you have your hands full (especially when you
have connections) really does get tiresome. Also, if you have an older
toddler who does not really use a stroller, it can be a great way to
get them around the terminal without bringing a second stroller.
