Recommendation: Phil & Ted's E3 Stroller Review
Note: See the review on the all new Phil & Ted's Sport Buggy which has replaced the E3
We spent about two months researching double strollers before we made our
decision to buy the E3. We actually first bought a Juvee thinking we would use it for
the first few months, but returned it a few weeks later as it had several
design flaws including a sliding seat for the toddler that wouldn't
lock in place.
The E3 is really a brilliant product that overcomes
most of the shortcomings of both traditional types of double strollers. It’s
no bigger than a regular jogging stroller and uses a top and down approach
to carrying two kids. With a newborn, you unzip the main seat (Step 3) allowing
it to fall flat into a bassinet and then attach the Doubles
Kit (sold separately) for your toddler to sit on top. Once your baby
is old enough to sit up, the same seat attaches to the back of the stroller
as a caboose. Our son used to pass out every
time we put him in there because it's essentially a rocking bassinet. A lot of people ask if the the toddler will be okay sitting in the back
because they can’t see forward. It’s really not as bad
as it looks because they can see out of both sides. Both our kids are happy in either position and they even fight over the back.
